Mission Statement:
Co-creating an experience that is inclusive, nonjudgemental, respectful, dignified, and safe for clients to explore vulnerabilities in a therapeutic manner in order to realize emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
I have had a long-standing goal of opening my own Counselling and Consulting practice and did so in 2009 with the vision to expand my services to a broader client base for both English and Spanish speaking communities in London and area.
Born and raised in London, Ontario, I completed an undergraduate degree in English with the vision of pursuing journalism. Despite my love for literary studies, I soon realized that I preferred to be a part of people’s lives, offering support and encouragement, rather than reporting on people’s lives during difficult times.
Since that time, I completed both my Bachelor of Social Work and my Master of Social Work in the School of Social Work at King's University College, University of Western Ontario, where I now have the pleasure of teaching.
I have also pursued my love for the Spanish language and culture, which has included language studies and three intensive cross- cultural experiences in Colombia, Bolivia and Mexico.
I have been actively employed in the social service sector for ten years, the last seven of which as a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers.
Most recently, I have spent close to eight years specializing in work with trauma survivors, specifically women survivors of both historical and/or recent sexual trauma.
